Blind software bets are expensive

Choosing software on a demo and a gut feel is the most expensive guess in the business: a platform that doesn't fit, a rollout that stalls, and AI that never works. The Assessment gives you the full picture first, so the decision is yours to defend.

Illustrative. Your numbers come from your Assessment.
The problem

Could you answer these today?

Sooner or later you bet the business on a platform: tens of thousands of dollars over its life, chosen from polished demos and a gut feel for fit. The vendor shows you their best day. Nobody shows you whether it actually runs the way your business does.

The riskiest purchase in the business is the one made without the answers below.

iThe hidden cost

The moment you sign, the vendor's onboarding team asks for these same answers, and they live nowhere but in your head and your ops manager's. Kickoff stalls. Later, when you try AI, it stays generic for the very same reason.

?Which platform actually fits how you run, not how the demo runs?
?Which of your workflows must it handle on day one?
?Where does your data live, and what actually migrates?
?What is broken now that the new system has to fix?
?Who owns each configuration decision during the build?
?What would an AI need to know to be useful in your business?

If you can't, you're not alone. But you're also at risk of footing an expensive bill in time, money, and stress.

Context changes that.

Rehash expertise, systems, & frameworks can help.

The Rehash Ontology

Context is five things, structured well

The strongest operations have their business written down: services, workflows, pricing rules, and the way work moves between people and systems. Most run on memory and tribal knowledge instead, which is exactly why software misfits and AI stays generic.

The Assessment builds that record for you, the Rehash Ontology, captured and structured.

The make-up of your business

The base layer everyone assumes and few capture cleanly.

  • Trade, service lines, and service mix
  • Job types and work patterns (emergency, recurring, project, install)
  • Team structure, roles, and crew makeup
The payoff

Better context. Better decisions.

Clear context doesn't magically fix the business. It changes the next move you make: for software, for AI, and especially for operators trying to make both work together.

The engagement

Expert Field Service Guidance

The Assessment is a guided engagement, not just a form you fill out. Most run across three working sessions, with the analysis happening between them, so the time we ask of you stays small while the picture stays deep.

Session 1

Onboarding

A working session to set things up. Your requirements and systems go in through our Navigator platform, and we map your service mix, team structure, and what prompted the engagement, so the work starts from real access.

You bringAn hour of the operator's time, and access to your systems and reporting.
Session 2

Review

We walk the initial findings with you and pressure-test them against the day-to-day. Anything we got wrong gets corrected, and where a decision needs deeper evidence we scope an Applied Assessment, only where it earns its keep.

You bringYour team's reality check: the people who live the workflows.
Session 3

Recommend

We deliver and walk the written report: the bottleneck named with evidence, the fit-based recommendation, and a sequenced roadmap, in a form your next software setup and any AI system can draw on.

You bringDecision-makers in the room, so the roadmap leaves with owners.

Better Technology Starts Here

The most expensive mistake, in software or AI, is the one made before the business is clearly understood. Start with the picture that prevents it, and keeps paying off in whatever you build next.

Good to know

A few things worth knowing

Who is the Assessment for?

Field service operators, typically around one million in revenue and above, who suspect their systems are limiting the business and want a clear picture before making changes.

Will you recommend a specific software platform?

The Assessment ends in a fit-based recommendation: software, systems, or both, matched to how you operate. Sometimes that recommendation is to keep what you have and tighten it. We are vendor-neutral either way, never paid to recommend.

How is this different from a vendor demo?

A demo is designed to sell a tool; it shows the vendor's best day. The Assessment is designed to understand your business: what to keep, what to fix, and what to replace, independent of any vendor.

What happens after the Assessment?

You keep the report and roadmap either way. If it makes sense, the context carries straight into Deploy for the rollout, Optimize for ongoing tuning, or Strategic Project Scoping for bigger moves. If the right move is internal or vendor work, the roadmap says so.
